Travelers at South Korea’s Incheon International Airport are facing backlash after using nursing rooms to obtain free hot water for instant noodles, prompting complaints from parents who rely on the facilities for infant care.
Footage circulating on Chinese social media platforms showed Sunday that some tourists had been sharing a “travel hack” for making instant noodles at the airport.
One user wrote that airport convenience stores did not provide hot water, but that nursing rooms offered free hot water, suggesting travelers use the facilities instead. Some posts went further, sharing detailed directions to nearby convenience stores and nursing rooms, The Korea Herald reported.
Other users shared similar experiences, with one saying airport staff had stopped them from using the facility.
“I thought only eating inside was prohibited, but they wouldn’t even allow me to get hot water,” the user wrote, saying they had explained they only planned to take water and leave immediately.
