Turkish charter carrier Tailwind Airlines has established a Croatian entity. It was registered in Zagreb as a limited liability company in mid-March, with Kadri Abdul-Khalik Muhiddin appointed as its director. Mr Muhiddin, a British aviation entrepreneur, is the Chairman of the Board of Tailwind Airlines. Established in 2005 and commencing operations in 2009, the airline specialises in charter, ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance) and wet-lease services for tour operators and other airlines. Tailwind primarily serves holiday destinations across Europe, Turkey and the Mediterranean region, transporting leisure travellers from key source markets such as Germany, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia to popular resort destinations. It operates a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft.
