COPENHAGEN- Vietnam Airlines (VN) and Vietnam’s tourism agencies hosted the Vietnam Europe Tourism Promotion Program in Copenhagen (CPH). The event highlighted new steps to deepen cooperation between Vietnam and the Nordic region.

The flag carrier also introduced its upcoming nonstop Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) to Copenhagen (CPH) route, marking the first direct air link between Vietnam and Denmark.

Vietnam Airlines Copenhagen Flight

The program brought together senior representatives from both countries, including government bodies, diplomatic missions, city tourism departments, and leading travel businesses. Their focus centered on expanding air connectivity, boosting tourism flows, and supporting bilateral trade.

Vietnam Airlines detailed its plan to launch nonstop flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Copenhagen on December 15, 2025.

This new service will cut travel time to about twelve hours and open a direct corridor between Southeast Asia and Northern Europe. The carrier will operate three weekly flights using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

• Departures from Ho Chi Minh City are set for 22:45 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
• Return flights from Copenhagen will leave at 10:50 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

The new route is positioned as an important addition to the airline’s European network and is expected to elevate Vietnam’s presence in Nordic travel markets.

New Cooperation Agreements

During the event, Vietnam Airlines and its Danish partners signed four cooperation agreements to support long-term development in tourism and aviation. These agreements include a strategic partnership aimed at promoting Vietnam across the Nordic region, creating new market opportunities, and supporting coordinated growth in travel demand.

A memorandum of understanding between Vietnam Airlines and Copenhagen Airport covers infrastructure coordination, service quality improvements, and joint promotional activities.

Both sides are committed to developing two-way tourism products aimed at attracting more Danish visitors to Vietnam while encouraging outbound travel from Vietnam to Northern Europe.

Vietnam Airlines, Saigontourist, and Nordic Travel also signed a three-party agreement to expand package tour offerings and improve customer experience. These combined partnerships create an integrated framework for sustainable growth across the aviation and tourism sectors.

Copenhagen serves as a major economic and tourism gateway to Scandinavia, with established links to Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland. The arrival of Vietnam Airlines strengthens Vietnam’s competitive position and supports wider investment and tourism exchanges between the two regions.

The Vietnam Europe Tourism Promotion Program marked a key milestone for both sides. It highlighted Vietnam Airlines’ role in presenting Vietnam to global audiences while supporting sustainable development and deeper international integration from 2025 to 2030.
