The Volendam set sail from Fort Lauderdale on January 4, 2026, for Holland America Line’s Grand World Voyage.

The departure was marked by a dual send-off, which also celebrated the start of the company’s Grand Australia and New Zealand Voyage onboard the Zaandam.

Sailing roundtrip from Port Everglades, the 133-night itinerary features visits to 51 destinations across 23 countries and territories.

Highlighted by scenic cruising in Antarctica, the cruise includes visits to five continents, with a focus on South America, the Pacific Ocean and Asia.

Among the highlights of the itinerary are a series of overnight calls in marquee destinations like Papeete, Bali and Yokohama.

After departing from Florida, the Volendam sailed to French Guiana before arriving in Brazil for visits to a series of destinations, such as Belém, Recife and Rio de Janeiro.

In late January, the vessel is set to arrive in Argentina and Uruguay while heading to Antarctica and Cape Horn.

Upon arriving in the Pacific, the ship sails to ports of call in Chile before arriving in French Polynesia, Australia and New Zealand.

The cruise then sails to destinations in Southeast Asia and the Far East, including Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, Hong Kong and Nagasaki.

After crossing the Pacific, the itinerary sails to ports in Alaska and the West Coast on its way to the Panama Canal.

The Volendam is then set to visit ports in the Caribbean and Central America before returning to Fort Lauderdale on May 17, 2026.

According to Holland America, one of the highlights of the cruise is a meet-up with the Zaandam in Sydney in early March.

To celebrate the two Grand Voyages, the company will host a Chocolate Teatime at the port with Chocolatier Jacques Torres.

Upon returning to Florida, the Volendam is set to kick off a summer season in Canada, New England, Iceland and the Arctic.
