Windstar Cruises’ Wind Star has completed the second and final stage of the company’s Setting Sails refurbishment project.

This redesign is meant to bring a more refined, modern feel to the experience aboard the 148-guest vessel, which celebrated its 40th anniversary of operation earlier this month.

The ship is now the first in the Wind Class fleet to complete Phases 1 and 2 of the refurbishment program, the company said in a statement.

The Wind Surf is scheduled to complete Phase 2 in December 2026, followed by the Wind Spirit in March 2027.

“This transformation is about honoring where we started while sailing confidently into what’s next. As our original sailing yacht, Wind Star has always held a special place in our fleet,” said Stijn Creupelandt, chief operating officer of Windstar Cruises.

“With these significant updates, we’ve honored what guests love most while elevating every aspect of the experience. Now, she’s ready to deliver that experience in entirely new ways, in some of the world’s most iconic destinations.”

The dining venues were reimagined as part of the upgrade.

Amphora, the signature restaurant, has been fully redesigned with new flooring, wall finishes and ceiling treatments, along with custom banquette seating and updated furnishings.

At Veranda, a refreshed interior is paired with a reimagined buffet layout.

Additionally, the staterooms got new upholstered headboards, integrated lighting and bedside charging.

The vessel’s first itinerary post-refurbishment was a 10-night sailing from Lisbon to Barcelona April 7–17.

Next up are additional sailings from Barcelona through May and June.

From June through October, the Wind Star will operate seven-night roundtrip voyages from Athens (Piraeus) as part of its Greek Isles itinerary.

Then, in 2027, the ship will join the Star Breeze in French Polynesia and offer year-round sailings in Tahiti, operating the seven-day Dreams of Tahiti itinerary.
