A woman turns to the Reddit community for advice after a tense confrontation with a fellow passenger on an international flight. She explains that what began as quiet discomfort turned into a drawn-out standoff with the woman seated behind her.
“I was recently on an 8 hr flight from the Middle East to London,” the traveler writes. “The woman behind me had her feet, shoes and all, propped up on the back of my seat, wedged into the narrow gap between the window and the seat.”

At first, she tries to handle the situation politely. “The first time I tried to address it, I just pointed to her feet and said, ‘Excuse me?’ ” she recalls.
But instead of cooperating, the passenger snaps back. “She immediately said, ‘What?? WHATT??’ in a really rude tone,” the woman continues, adding that the harsh response left her too stunned to reply.
The feet remained pressed against her seat for hours. Eventually, the discomfort became too much to ignore. “After about 4 hours of this, I’d had enough,” she explains. “I stood up on my seat, turned around, and told her to move her feet.”
The confrontation quickly escalates into an argument. “She started arguing with me, but this time I raised my voice,” the poster shares, admitting she felt pushed to her limit.
The woman behind her seemed shocked by the pushback. “I think she didn’t expect me to push back, because eventually her partner (who had been laughing at my earlier attempt) told her to remove her feet, and she reluctantly did,” she recalls.
Behind her frustration is a deeper personal struggle. “I had already been traveling 6+ hours from Asia before this flight, I had a massive headache, and every time I leaned my head toward the window to sleep, I was terrified my hair would touch her shoes,” she explains.

Even with the problem solved, she wonders if she went too far. “AITA for raising my voice and insisting she move her feet after hours of putting up with it?” the traveler asks.

The Reddit community, however, was quick to reassure her. One commenter writes, “Oh wow. NTA. This is disgusting. You could have called the steward at the beginning and they would have addressed this quickly though.”
Another commenter shares the same frustration. “People now are so rude and entitled,” they respond. “I would have asked once, you shouldn’t need to ask but once then rung the bell. If that failed I’d have poured my drink on her dirty feet.”
