The new premium economy cabin seats 28 passengers in a 2-3-2 configuration.
Designed around the theme “Starlit Mountain City”, the cabin draws inspiration from the glowing nightscape of the mountain town Jiufen. Seat fabrics subtly shift under ambient lighting, complemented by metallic chrome accents, warm leather finishes and rose-gold reading lamps at each seat.
Passengers will have access to 15.6″ 4K display with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing personal devices and wireless headphones to pair directly with the inflight entertainment system – a feature China Airlines says is an industry first, though the new Airbus A321neo of Thai Airways already offers Bluetooth audio connectivity.
Rounding out the hardware are a six-way headrest with integrated privacy shielding, a leather footrest and a tray table with a built-in phone and tablet stand. Complimentary Wi-Fi is included, with support for unlimited browsing and messaging.
Passengers will also receive lightweight porcelain utensils, noise-reducing over-ear headphones, slippers, a two-toned blanket and an amenity kit developed with designer Marc Jacobs and Danish lifestyle brand Frama.
